Elmer R. Marr

MOLINE - Elmer R. Marr, 90, of Moline died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, with a visitation one hour prior to service time at Elim Covenant Church in Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory Ltd. is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elim Covenant Church or the Quad City Animal Shelter. Elmer was born Feb. 8, 1917, in Petersburg, to William G. and Emma Mudd Marr. He married Hazel L. Boosinger in Keokuk, Iowa, on Aug. 9, 1939. Hazel and Elmer had a son, Galen R. Marr. Hazel Boosinger Marr died April 13, 1985. Elmer later married Evalee Landrith, who also preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 2003.

Elmer was employed at John Deere Planter Works Tool and Die Dept. for 38 years, retiring in 1980. Elmer was a member of Elim Covenant Church and Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. Elmer spent a lot of time on the golf course, and also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by a son, Galen R. (Sally) Marr of Moline; grandchildren, Jon C. (Anne) Marr of Damascus, Md., and their children, Nathan and Carey, Jennifer Marr (Rene) Hauschulz of Penacook, N.H., and their children, Robert and Rhiannon, Peter A. (Heather) Marr of Manchester, N.H., and their children, Ellie and Camden, and Philip J. (Erin) Marr of Frederick, Md., and their son, Caleb; brother, Lester (Benny) Marr of Chandlerville; foster daughter of Elmer and Hazel, Diane Wright Centner of Knoxville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Marr; brothers, Dwight Marr, Cecil Marr, Auburn Marr, Raymond Marr and Raleigh Marr; and sisters, Dorothy Ozella Marr and Lela Mae Marr Davis. Evalee Marr

MOLINE - Evalee Landrith Marr, 84, of Moline died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis.

She was born June 20, 1919, in Ashland, the daughter of William Boggs and Irene Jones Irvin. She married Herbert Landrith in 1934 in Ashland; he died in 1983. She later married Elmer Marr in 1985 in Moline. A daughter, Dolores Jean Landrith, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Marr was a self-employed beautician for 35 years, retiring in 1981. She was a charter member of Moline Gospel Temple, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Jubilee Club. She attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship of the Quad Cities.

Survivors: husband, Elmer; two daughters, Jan (husband, Bob) Peppmeyer of Rock Island and Rita (husband, John) Amundsen of Coal Valley; a stepson, Galen (wife, Sally) Marr of Moline; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis (wife, Sharon) Irvin of Lorraine; three sisters, Rose Isenhower of Springfield, Betty (husband, Floyd) Frutiger of Phoenix and Ruth (husband, Bernard) Jankauski of Athens; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Burial: Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Frances Marr

CHANDLERVILLE - Frances Marr, 75, of Chandlerville died Saturday [November 16, 1996]at her residence.

Survivors: husband, Benny Marr; four daughters, Mrs. Jim (Ruth Ann) Mibbs, Mrs. Bill (Marette O.) Abbott and Mrs. Mike (Debra M.) Mibb, all of Chandlerville, and Mrs. Delbert (Kathy J.) Lierly of Pittsfield; a son, Benny Ray Marr of Chandlerville; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home in Chandlerville. Burial: Bethel Cemetery, Mason County.

Raleigh Marr

CHANDLERVILLE - Raleigh Marr, 74, of Chandlerville died Monday [September 11, 1995] at his residence. Survivors: two sons, Arthur L. Marr of Chandlerville and Rodney G. Marr of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; two brothers, Benny Marr of Chandlerville and Elmer Marr of Moline; and a sister, Mae Davis of Virginia, Ill.

Graveside services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Chandlerville City Cemetery. Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home in Chandlerville is in charge of arrangements.

William D. Marr

CHANDLERVILLE - William Dwight Marr, 81, of Chandlerville died at 10:30 a.m. Monday [February 22, 1988] at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m Thursday at Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home, Chandlerville. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Inez; four daughters, Gloria Potts, Dorothy Richards, Barbara Cook, all of Chandlerville, and Marjorie Towery of Beardstown; three sons, Jerry and Donnie, both of Chandlerville, and Richard of Meredosia; one sister, Lela Mae Davis of Beardstown; three brothers, Elmer of Moline, Raleigh and Lester "Benny" Marr, both of Chandlerville; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
