Alice Zeck Robertson

Alice Robertson, 83, of Mason City, IL died at the Mason City Area Nursing Home at 9:55 p.m. on December 18, 2005.

She was born to Otto and Clara (Riepe) Zeck, May 14, 1922 in Mason City. She married Wayne R. Robertson on October 5, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. He died October 17, 2004.

She is survived by one son Ron (Patricia) of Mason City, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers, one sister and one great grandson.

She was a member of the Mason City Christian Church. She was former member of the Broadwell Community Group which put on plays for children as well as serving monthly luncheons. She worked at the Smoler Brothers Lincoln Garment Factory and at Knoles Gardens in Mason City for several years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Nash Shawgo will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Alice Robertson Memorial Fund.

MASON CITY - Wayne R. Robertson, 85, of Mason City died at 9:34 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Born Sept. 17, 1919, in Kentucky to Elliot and Lizzie Scott Robertson, he married Alice Zeck on Oct. 5, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ron (and Patricia) Robertson of Mason City; two brothers, Kenneth (and Mary) and Gordon (and Betty) of Mason City; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; 18 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one great-grandson.

He had worked for Dick Robertson as a farmer near Mason City, until he got married. He then worked in a lime quarry and later drove a garbage pick-up route in Mason City, until retiring. He had been working with his son, Ron.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Paddack will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wayne Roberts Project established at the Mason City Park District.
