HAVANA - Carl "Ivan" Siltman, 79, of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, formerly of Havana, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, in Tasmania.

Born March 29, 1920, in Havana to John and Nettie Toland Siltman, he married Nea Beryl Worsley in 1943. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael; four daughters, Julie, Ruth, Tracey and Lynellen; several grandchildren; and two sisters, Ernestine Siltman and Illa Helensmith, both of Havana.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert, two sisters and four brothers. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Services were in Australia. Obituary information was provided by Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.

HOBART, TASMANIA, Australia - Carl "Ivan" Siltman of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, formerly of Havana, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, in Tasmania, Australia.

He was born March 29, 1920, in Havana, the son of John and Nettie Toland Siltman. He married Nea Beryl Worsley in 1943. A son, Robert, preceded him in death.

Mr. Siltman served in the U.S. Marines and the Australian Air Force.

Survivors: wife, Nea; a son, Michael Siltman; four daughters, Julie, Ruth, Tracey and Lynellen; several grandchildren; and two sisters, Ernestine Siltman and Illa Helensmith, both of Havana.

Services were held in Australia.

VIRGINIA - Catherine Siltman, 75, of rural Virginia died Tuesday [October 4, 1994] at Memorial Medical Center.

Survivors: husband, Wilson "Ped"; son, James Siltman of Springfield; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; three brothers, John Taylor of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Earl Taylor of Virginia and Carroll Taylor of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sangamon Valley Presbyterian Church. Burial: Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Virginia. Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home, Chandlerville, is in charge of arrangements.

HAVANA - Ernestine "Nernie" Siltman, 77, of Havana died Monday, April 19, 2004, at her home.

She was born May 7, 1926, in Havana, the daughter of John Louis and Nettie Marie Toland Siltman.

Miss Siltman worked at State Hospital in Bartonville, Zeller Zone Center in Peoria, State Hospital in Galesburg and the state Department of Mental Health for more than 35 years.

Survivors: many nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Hurley Funeral Home, Havana, Warren Hughes officiating. Burial: Snicarte Cemetery, rural Bath.

VIRGINIA - Wilson "Ped" Siltman, 79, of Virginia died Saturday [April 25, 1998] at Memorial Medical Center.

Survivors: a son, Jim Siltman of Springfield; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Ivan Siltman of Hobart, Tazmania; two sisters, Ernestine Siltman and Illa Lee Helensmith, both of Matanza Beach; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sangamon Valley Presbyterian Church, Virginia. Burial: Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Virginia.

Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home in Virginia is in charge of arrangements.

Note: He was born June 22, 1918 Chandlerville, Mason County, Illinois, the daughter of John Louis Siltman and Nettie Marie Toland. Brother, Woodrow B. is his twin and died May 12, 1993 Mason District Hospital, Havana, Mason County, Illinois. Wilson married Catherine Taylor, died October 4, 1994.


Woodrow B. Siltman

HAVANA - Woodrow B. Siltman, 74, of 826 S. Coleman died at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 1993, at Mason District Hospital.

Born June 22, 1918, in Chandlerville to John Lewis and Nettie Marie Toland Siltman, he married Maxine Boggs on June 20, 1940, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Thetus I. of Dunlap; one daughter, Joyce Dianne Rollins of Beardstown; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, his twin, Wilson of Virginia, Ill., and Carl Ivan of Tasmania, Australia; and two sisters, Ernestine Siltman and Illa Helensmith, both of Havana. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

He was the owner and operator of the Dairy Queens in Clinton, Havana and Beardstown for 20 years. During the time, he operated the Dairy Queen in Clinton, he also operated a swimming pool in Clinton.

He was a member of Havana Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge in Chandlerville, Chandlerville Order of Eastern Star Lodge 544 and the Cursillo in Peoria. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Services will be at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at his church. The Rev. Warren Hughes will officiate. Visitaion will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will be in Snicarte Cemetery in Snicarte.
