Mrs. Margaret Ann Walker

On Saturday night, at the family residence on South Morgan and West Chestnut street, occurred the passing of Mrs. Margaret Ann Walker, for over half a century a respected citizen of Mason City; the decedent pasing from this life at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 24 days after a year's illness from senile debility.

The decedent was the widow of the late Dr. James P. Walker to whom she was wedded in Lancaster, Iowa, on December 6, 1854 and to whom were born five sons and three daughters. Dr. Walker who was Major Surgeon during the Civil War and who for many years was a practicing physician and surgeon in Mason City, passed from this life on January 5, 1892 and one son, Atty. Robert L. Walker, died about one year ago.

Mrs. Walker was a devout member of the local First Presbyterian church and is survived by the following sons and daughters: Dr. W. P. Walker of Mason City, Mrs. T. A. Whitworth, of Cedar Falls, Miss Anna H. Walker and James S. Walker, at home; Joseph R. Walker, Mrs. Ben C. Rickert and John C. S. Walker, of Mason City, besides other relatives and a wide circle of warm friends who will mourn her passing.

The funeral services were held from the family residence on Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Walter L. Turney, pastor of the local First Presbyterian church. The interment was made in the Mason City cemetery
