Col. # 3=Sex
Col. # 4=Color-White, Black or Mulatto
Col. # 5=Free or Slave
Col. # 6=Married or Widowed
Col. # 7=Place of Birth-Naming the State, Territory or Country
Col. # 8=The month in which the person died
Col. # 9=Profession, Occupation or Trade
Col. #10=Disease or Cause of Death
Col. #11=Number of Days Ill

Remarks: the Schools & School funds of Massac County are generally in a wretched condition which is caused by the great uncertainty and obscurity of the School Lands, which renders it almost impossible to get any accurate information assessing them.
Crime is of frequent occurance yet I report no criminals because crime is seldom punished ________ Judical Circuit of which Massac County forms a portion.
