For completeness in every detail and in every known department of the establishment, the modern grocery owned and operated by W.F. Heideman, located at Sixth and Catherine streets, takes rank with the foremost store of its kind in the state. W.F. Heideman is in active charge at all times and he is a groceryman of almost lifelong experience.
Mr. Heideman was born in this city in 1870 and attended the city schools during the school terms and worked in his father's grocery during the time that he was not in the school room. Consequently he rather inherited the grocery business and a glimpse into his modern establishment will quickly convince the onlooker of the truth of our statement. The Heideman store is one of the neatest and most sanitary in the state. There is another characteristic in Mr. Heideman, he is a true friend of Metropolis, the city of his birth and home. Whenever any question arises that is for the material benefit of this city he is quickly sought and he invariably responds with not only finances but with individual effort. He has seen the city grow from a small village to its present size and prosperity and no man rejoices in the same more than he.
Service is one of the hobbies at the Heideman store and one trial order there will please you. If you have never been a patron at the Heideman store, try the firm one time and be convinced that you will be treated right. Phone service, free delivery service and everything that goes to make up a high-class grocery store can be found at Heideman's.
Few citizens of this city are more possessed of more civic pride than Mr. Heideman. A visit to this beautiful section of the city, corner of Sixth and Catherine streets, will convince you that he is doing his part in beautifying the property. The beautiful lawn and flower beds surrounding both the store and Mr. Heideman's residence are in keeping with the splendidly conducted business which he has so successfully managed. If we had more men residing in Metropolis imbued with the civic pride he possessed this town would soon attract a national reputation as a place of business and also as one of the most beautiful spots in the county.
