THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

of Henry KRAPER of the County of Massac and State of Illinois made and published the 17th day of October, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-eight, in the name of God, Amen. I Henry KRAPER of the County of Massac and State of Illinois of the age of 67 years, and being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say,

First - It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my debts be fully paid

Second - I give and bequeth to Herman H.W. TRIEFLOFF, Emma M.C. TRIEGLOFF, Maria L.C. TRIEGLOFF, my grand-children, the sum of Five dollars each.

Third - I give and bequeath to Christina S. BARFIELD, wife of Benjamin S. BARFIELD, the sum of Five Dollars

Fourth - I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Charlotte KRAPER, during the remainder of her natural life, all the Real Estate, Lands, Personal Property and Goods and Chattels, which I may own, or be seized of, at the time of my death, to be used, managed and controled (sic) by her as she may see fit

Fifth - It is my will and desire that my said wife shall have the right to sell, or in any manner dispose of at private sale, with or without notice or order of Court, any of the said Real Estate or Personal Property, and appropriate the proceeds of such sale to her own use or benefit, as she may from time to time desire

Sixth - It is my will and desire that after the death of my beloved wife Charlotte Kraper and the payment of her funeral expenses and all her just debts, all the Real Estate and Personal Property which is herein given, devised and bequeathed to her except so much as may be sold and otherwise disposed of and expended by her, or distributed by her as hereinafter provided shall be equally be divided among my seven children, viz WILLIAM KRAPER, JOHN KRAPER, HENRY KRAPER, FREDERICK KRAPER, LOUISA KRAPER, ANNIE KRAPER, AND AMELIA KRAPER

Seventh - It is my desire also that the proceeds of the sale of any Real and Personal Property, or so much thereof as shall remain unexpended, at the death of my said wife, shall be equally divided among my said children

Eight - It is my will that said wife shall have the right, at any time to give to, or distribute among, my said children or any one or more of them, in any manner or amount she may desire, the said Real and Personal Property, or any part thereof, and the proceeds of any such as shall be sold by her

Lastly - I hereby nominate and appoint Charlotte KRAPER to be the Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made and that she be not required to give in Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the 17th day of October in the year of our Lord, One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Eight,

The above Instrument, consisting of one double sheet was now here subscribed by Henry KRAPER the Testator, in the presence of each of us, and was at the same time declared by him to be his Last Will and Testament, and we at his request, sign our names hereto in his presence as attesting witnesses

In the County Court of said County In Probate, November Term, A.D. 1896 Personally appeared in open Court, Douglas W. HELM and Samuel ATWELL subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Henry KRAPER late of Massac County deceased, who, being duly sworn according to law do depose and say each for himself, that they subscribed their names to the foregoing instrument as the attesting witnesses at the request of the said Testator and in his presence and in the presence of each other of the 17th day of October A.D. 1888 that he then and there subscribed his name thereto in their presence and declared he same to be his last Will and Testament, and that the said Testator at the time of executing the same as aforesaid was of full age of sound mind and under of constraint.
