Mrs. Anna Long (Anna E. Welch) was born in Nunda Township, Oct. 22, 1863.  She was the daughter of Michael and Bridget
Welch.  In 1874, when she was 11 years of age, she moved with her parents to Grand Junction, Iowa.  She resided there for eight
years.  In 1882, she removed to McHenry, Illinois, and lived there for nine years.  She was married to Edward Thomas Long, April
30, 1891 at St. Patrick's Church, McHenry.  To them were born eight children, all of whom survive her: John, Marie, Raphael,
Edward, Kathryn, Willie, Bernard and Margaret.  She was taken ill on Oct. 17, last, and failed gradually until the 19th of February,
when she departed this life at her home in Dorr Township at 5:00 a.m.  The funeral was held Monday at St. Patrick's Church,
McHenry.
