Albert W. Readel
1311 17th Place, Sterling, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in Community General Hospital after an extended illness. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Melvin Funeral Home with Dr. Alfred L. Grewe, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the Merwin Funeral Home in Woodstock where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for the family and 2:30 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church, with Dr. Roger Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock.
Mr. Readel was born Aug. 18, 1892 in Woodstock, son of Augusta Witt Readel and Fred Readel. He married Frieda Eckert on May 10, 1916, and moved to Sterling in January. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Mystic Workers and the Elks, all of Woodstock.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Dr. H. H. Readel, Sterling; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Dibler, Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Arthur, Woodstock; and five grandchildren. ["The Daily Gazette", Sterling-Rock Falls, Illinois March 29, 1954 - Sub. by Melva L. Taylor]
Mrs. Ida Bell Rugge

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Ida Bell Rugge Tuesday afternoon from the Schutt-Cerny funeral home in Harvard, the Rev. Sidney Bloomquist of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Mr. Auburn cemetery at Harvard. Born in Bristol, Wis., May 25, 1875, Mrs. Rugge had lived in Harvard since 1912. She was a charter member of the Harvard American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Woman’s Relief corps. Her death occurred Saturday morning, June 10, at Harvard Community hospital. Survivors include a son, Irving Van Bogart of Harvard, a daughter, Mrs. Axel Benson of Crystal Lake, three brothers and two grandchildren.
