This was the last precinct organized in the County, and consequently we find but few old settlers in it. George Blane came into its limits in 1820. He settled in the south part of Sugar Grove, and in a short time moved into the northwest part. James Meadows also made a settlement a short time after Mr. Blane. He came from the vicinity of the Sweetwater Precinct. He also settled in the grove mentioned.

Walter Bracken and a man by the name of Montgomery came also before the "deep snow."

The bulk of the settlers came at a much later date, and therefore do not come under the scope of these sketches, which are designed for old settlers.
