Left Class of 1844 and made a whaling voyage around Cape Horn and the Sandwich Islands. Re-entered, Class of 1847. Left College during Junior year. 1840-2, Registered as from New York, N.Y.; 1845, Brooklyn, N.Y. Engaged in farming in Illinois. 1856, County Auditor, residing in La Fayette, Ind. 1862, Enlisted in the 114th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. Served in Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana. 1864, Clerk at Medical Headquarters. 1866-74, Superintendent of Common Schools of Menard County, Ill, residing at Petersburg, Ill. 1874, Removed from there to Quincy, Ill; later to Kansas or Nebraska. 1881, Not found.
