John Martin - - - died Feb. 15, 1879   he was 66 y 6m 22d

  Buried at Rosehill Cemetery, Petersburg, IL  Section 4 Lot 125

     His wife was:

          Highland(Ferguson) Martin- - - died Sept 3, 1850  she was 39y 

             Buried at Rosehill Cemetery, Petersburg, IL  Section 3 Lot 125

 

Children are:

  Amanda Martin--- she was 16years old in the 1850 census.

      She married George W. Hatch , August 28,1855 in Sangamon 

         County, IL, she would have been 21 years old 

           George W. Hatch - - died May 25, 1874,   47y 5m 27d

           Rosehill Cemetery , Petersburg, IL  Section 4 Lot 123

          Amanda Hatch - - died Aug. 17, 1903, 69y 11m 14d

             Rosehill  Cemetery, Petersburg,IL  Section 4 Lot 123

   Their children are:

Margaret A  Hatch - - she was 4 years old in the 1860 census, 13 years old in the 1870 census

Mary H. Hatch - -  she was 2 years old in the 1860 census, 12 years    old in the 1870 census. Married James R. Arnold, Dec. 2,1877, license # 4412

         Children Are:

              Edmund Arnold - - born Sept. 9,1881

              Ralph Arnold - - born Feb. 10, 1879

Emma J. Hatch - - she was 6 months old in the 1860 census, 10  years old in the 1870 census.

   E. J. (Emma) - - died Aug. 30, 1877  17y 9m 4d,  Buried at Rosehill

      Cemetery, Petersburg, IL  Section 4 Lot 134

 

George W. Hatch - - he was 8 years old in the 1870 census.

   He was 18 in the 1880 census ( he and is mother were the only ones

      Listed in the 1880 census)

There is a George W. Hatch that married Elonore Reed Oct. 12,1882, lic. # 5034.  I think this is the same young man.   

 

Laura Hatch - - she was 7 years old in the 1870 census.   

       L.E. (Laura) - - died April 30, 1879  Cert. # 149  16y 26d

          Buried at Rosehill Cemetery Petersburg, IL  Section 4  Lot 134                  

 

There is a William N. Hatch 13 years old in the 1860 census and

 John B. Hatch 10 years old in the 1860 census living with Amanda and George W., I'm thinking they are children from a first marriage.

J. B. (John) Hatch died Sept. 5,1869 19y 8m 26d

buried in Rosehill Cemetery Petersburg, IL Section 4 Lot 123.

 

There is an M. H. Hatch buried in Section 4 Lot 123 along with

Everyone else in Section 4 Lot 123.  died March 30, 1855 29y 3m 5d

Could this have been his first wife ?  Enclosed you will find a marriage

License #282 which I believe is George's first wife Mary Brown,

March 10.1846. I think M.H. is the same lady, you may have to get a death certificate to verify.

 

 Jeff  Martin - - he was 11 yrs old when the 1850 census was done. 

         J. M. ( Jeff) - - died Sept. 8, 1850 12y 3m 24d  Buried at Rosehill

           Cemetery, Petersburg, IL, Section 4 Lot 132

 

Sarah A. Martin - - she was 9 yrs. Old in the 1850 census. She was 18 yrs old in the 1860 census and was married to Alexander Rhodes who was 22. Her father John Martin was living with them and he was 50 yrs old.  There was a John Rhodes living with them also, he was probably Alexander's brother.

 

 Children are:

 John A. Rhodes - - he was 7months in the 1860 census, 10yrs

  Old in the 1870 census, 20 yrs old in the 1880 census.   

             Born Nov. 9, 1859 and Died June 20, 1923.  He is buried

                At Rosehill Cemetery, Petersburg, IL  Section 1 Lot 19

                 He is buried with Maggie A Rhodes she was born        

                      Dec. 17, 1866 , died Sept. 7, 1949

                         If this is the right John A. he and Maggie A. Baum

                           Were married  March 22, 1886.

 

           David Rhodes - - he was 8 in the 1870 census, and not listed in the     

     1880 census.

 

 Charles Rhodes - - he was 6 yrs old in the 1870 census, 17 yrs 

       Old in the 1880 census.

          If this is the Charles that is buried at Rosehill Cemetery,

           Petersburg, IL  2nd addition Lot 61 he was born

           Nov. 23, 1863, died Oct. 24, 1931. He married

           Mary Pauline ?  , she was born Dec. 14, 1867, died

           Nov. 8, 1956 88y 10m 24d, she is buried with him.

 

 Alice Rhodes - - she was 4yrs old in the 1870 census, 14 yrs in the

    1880 census.

 

William Rhodes - - was 2 yrs in the 1870 census, and 12 yrs

    In 1880 census

 

Lydia Rhodes - - was 9 yrs in the 1880 census

 

Perilla? Rhodes - - she was 6 yrs old in the 1880 census

 

Edgar Rhodes - - he was 4 yrs old in the 1880 census

                                                                                      

 Dora E. Rhodes - - born Feb. 19, 1979, died July 12, 1881

    She was 1 y in 1880 census

              Buried with Freddy O. in Rosehill Cemetery, Petersburg,IL

 

         Freddy O. Rhodes - -  born Oct. 21, 1884, died April 30, 1888

             Children of A. & S.A. , buried near Highland Martin in Rosehill

               Cemetery, Petersburg,IL

 

 In 1870 the name of Rhodes was spelled Rhoades in the census.

 

 

J. M. Martin - -  was 8 years old in the 1850 census,

    He died Sept 6, 1850, 7y 3m, buried in Rosehill Cemetery,

                 Petersburg, IL  Section 4 Lot 125

 

 

 M. E. Martin - - she was 5 years old in the 1850 census,

             She died Sept 8, 1850, 4y 9m, buried in Rosehill Cemetery,

               Petersburg,IL  Section 4 Lot 125

 

E. J. Martin - - she was 2 year old in the 1850 census, she died

     Sept. 13, 1850, 2y 3m, buried in Rosehll Cemetery, Petersburg, IL

      Section 4, Lot 132

 

 

There are three other Martins buried in Section 4:

W.C Martin buried in Section 4 Lot 125 he died Nov. 13, 1839

and was 3y 6m

 

Infant Martin buried  Section 4 Lot 132 Died March 26, 1835

 

William A. Martin buried Section 4 Lot 132 Died Aug. 10, 1868

15d, Son of W. N. & B. H. Martin  ( near Infant Martin )

 

I don't know how these are related but almost have to be as they are buried in the same Section and Lots as the other Martins.
