Athens - Leon J. Baum, 71, of R.R. 2, Athens died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at St. John's Hospital. Mr. Baum was born August 13, 1901 in Menard County, the son of Henry and Alice Workman Baum. He is survived by two brothers, Clarence Baum of Petersburg and Eural Baum of Athens; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Huflin of Greenview, Miss Margaret Baum and Miss Maude Baum, both of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens with Rev. William Pullin officiating. Burial was in Hall Cemetery at Athens.
