Again the Angle of Death has alarmed our outer castle and our friend and brother Charley Brown has been called from our order of valiant knights to receive the approbation of the Supreme Chancellor of the Universe.

Sir Knight Charley Brown was born at Clear Lake, Sangamon county, Ill. October 22, 1870, and died June 12, 1905 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, aged 34 years 7 months and 21 days.

For some time he had been complaining but he did not cease to go about his usual work. On June 5th he was taken seriously ill, everything possible was done to alleviate his suffering and upon the advice of the attending physician he was removed to St. John's hospital where his death occoured. He was a member of the order of Knights of Pythias and of Local Union____, 974 United Mine Workers of America. Both of these orders attended ___ obsequies.

The funeral was held from the M.___ Church, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.F.McKown officiating assisted by Rev. G.J. Ellis. The services at the grave were conducted by the Knights of Pythias.

He leaves to mourn his lose his wife, one Uncle, three Cousins and a host of friends.

Charles Brown was well and favorably known in our city. He served in the capacity of marshal for some time. He was a genial kind hearted man. He will be missed, sadly missed by all.

Oh Yet we trust that somehow good
Will be the final goal of ill,
To pangs of nature, sins of will,
Defects of doubt, and taints of blood;

That nothing walks with aimless feet;
That not one life shall be destroyed,
Or cast as rubbish to the void,
When God has made the pile complete;

That not a worm is cloven in vain;
That not a moth with vain desire,
Is shrivell'd in a fruitless fire,
Or but subserves another's gain.
