Died, Anderson David Caldwell, at his home in Tice Sunday evening, April 6, after an illness of only two weeks. He was the son of Hiram Caldwell and was born March 17, 1854, being at the time of his death 48 years and 20 days.

He was married December 27, 1882, to Mary Heigold, of Petersburg. To this union was born four children - Katie, Annie, Henry and Freddie. The past ten years of his life he has lived at Tice and during that time has made many friends here. His death was sudden and unexpected until the last week and it reminds us more forcibly of the fact that "while we are in the midst of life we are in death." The community feels deeply the loss of a friend, neighbor and good citizen. To his family he was ever kind and loving and labored faithfully for them that their wants might be few. Besides his family he leaves three sisters - Mrs. Ed. Thompson, Mrs. John Griffith, of Little Grove, and Mrs. Ed Bergen, of Petersburg, and one brother, Will, of Missouri, to mourn his loss.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church on Tuesday at eleven o'clock, conducted by Rev. Thompson. The church was filled to overflowing with friends and relatives of the deceased, who met to pay their last tribute of respect to one who has so recently lived and labored among us. After the ceremony the remains were taken to Concord cemetery where they were laid to rest.

The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their beloved husband and father. A Friend.
