C. O. Hartley Dies Of Paralytic Stroke.
Charles O. Hartley died at a Jacksonville Hospital on Thursday, October 1 [1936], at the age of 65 years. He had been in declining health for several years, and on September 24, suffered a paralytic stroke, from which he failed to rally. He became a patient at the Hospital only the day before his death.

Mr. Hartley was born on March 9, 1871 near Salisbury, the son of John and Saphronia Hartley. He later came to this community, and for many years had lived in the vicinity of Tice. He was married on May 18, 1904 to Miss Mollie Snell, who survives. Surviving also are three sisters, Mrs. George Saul of Springfield, Mrs. Fred Rickard of Kaw, Okla. And Miss Mary of this community.

Funeral services were held at Thompson & Harms Chapel at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. A. Wilson of Rock Creek, and burial was in Rose Hill.
