Mrs. Hill, Oakford, Dies Sunday P.M. in Hospital
Josephine Cooper Hill, a resident of Oakford for many years, died at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon [January 23, 1938] at Springfield Hospital, while undergoing an operation. Mrs. Hill, who was seventy-four years old, had been ill only a short time, and was removed to the hospital the morning of the day of her death.

She was born August 30, 1863 at Prentice in Morgan County the daughter of William and Fanny Roe Hill . She married Jacob Nathan Hill, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. Surviving are the following children; Cora Hall (Bert) of Decatur; Harry Hill and Effie Wood (Frank), Petersburg; Jesse Hill of Oakford; Viola McGuire (Frank) of Marshall, MO; Miss Fannie, at home. She is survived also by several grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services wee held at the Oakford Methodist Church at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Reverend W A Ogden, with Thompson & Harms in charge, and burial was in Pontiac Cemetery in Cass County.

The following served as pall-bearers, George Armstrong, Harve Senter, Louie Senter, Harry McHenry and Herman Backs.
