Death of Mrs. Eliza (Murrell) Lowe
She married Henry Lowe April 16, 1859 who survives her. They came to Illinois in 1884.
She was the mother of nine children, six of whom are living Mrs. Amanda W. Eads, Mrs.Lou Belle Woodrum, Mrs. Sallie B. Woodrum, Mrs. Ellen Lee Beard, Mrs. Ollie May Cornelius and W.I. Lowe of Kentucky. These with a brother and two sisters mourn her loss.
Mrs. Lowe had been a faithful member of the Christian church for over forty years and was prepared and unafraid to meet her Lord.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Elder W.M. Groves at the Christian church at Tallula, who spoke comforting words of cheer and hope. Interment at Greenwood cemetery.
Note from Jeanie: This obit says Eliza is buried in Greenwood Cemetery. However we blieve that Eliza is buried in White Cemetery, outside of Tallula. There is no stone but we found her husband's name - Henry Lowe -- on the plat map of the cemetery and we found the location. Her death record also says she is buried in White Cemetery. She died before her husband and we believe they are buried together at White Cemetery in spite of what this obit says.
