Died at her home in Greenview Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Mrs. Alvira A. Roberts, wife of James T. Roberts, aged 79 years, 3 months and 12 days. She has been in very poor health for almost a year, having had an attack of the grip last December, which finally was, in connection with other ailments, the cause of her death.
Alvira A. Hartwell was born in Deputy, Ind., July 21, 1834, and came to Athens, Ill., in 1844 with her parents. She was married to James T. Robert in Athens on April 18, 1851. There were three children born to them, two of whom are living; Mrs. I. H. Primm, of Mason City, and George C. Roberts, of Greenview. There are also living thirteen grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She united with the Christian church in Athens, Ill., in January 1851 and after her removal to Greenview she transferred her membership to the Greenview church and has always lived an active Christian life. She has been a resident of Greenview for nearly 37 years. The funeral was held Friday, November 10 at 10 o'clock a.m. at the Christian church in Greenview, conducted by Elder C. E. Smoot of Petersburg, assisted by Elder J. W. Flynn of Greenview, after which the remains were laid to rest in Sugar Grove cemetery.
