Sampson Funeral Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Sampson whose death occurred Wednesday of last week were held Friday, July 30 [1926] at 3 p. m. from the residence of her son Luther V. Sampson, east of the city, Rev. Thomas G. Melton and Rev. W. M. Groves officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Sampson, whose name before her marriage was Terry, was born at Tice June 22, 1856. In early life she united with the Cumberland church and in 1906 became a member of the Central Presbyte4rian church of this city. She was married April 27, 1882 to Melvin M. Sampson. To this union were born two children, a son Luther V. Sampson with whom she made her home, and a daughter Mrs. Lottie Simson of Semmes, Alabama. She is survived by the two children named above, one granddaughter, four brothers, Azel Terry of Leavenworth, Kans., and A. R. Terry, Thomas Terry and C. E. Terry of Tice and a great many other relatives and friends. Mr. Sampson preceded her in death on August 10, 1900.
