Oh, they tell me you are going,
In a distant land to roam;
When parted from your loved ones
You will often dream of home.
In the twilight, sad and lonely,
They will always pray for you;
May God bless and keep you ever
In his pathway good and true.
Now farewell, but not forever,
Though this parting gives me pain;
Yet I know that I shall meet you,
In that land of light again;
Where the streets with gold are shining,
And the angels guard the gate,
I shall stand within the portals
And for you I'll gladly wait.
