I Ephraim Wilcox of the County of Menard and State of Illinois, being of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former will by me at any time wheretofore made.
And first I direct that my body be decently interred.
And as to such estate as it hath pleased God to interest me with, I dispose of the same as follows to wit.
Item 1 I give and bequeath unto my oldest son William Wilcox five hundred dollars, also my small __ full stock rifle..
Item 2 I give and bequeath to my second son Samuel Wilcox, five hundred dollars. Also one cow known as the white faced cow. Also one bed and bedstead. Also one roan heifer and one red steer same white on his __ and one yearling. Also one two horse wagon, Also my small horse.
Item 3 I give and bequeath to my third son Isaac Wilcox two hundred and fifty dollars.
Item 4 I give and bequeath unto my fourth son James Wilcox five hundred dollars. Also one bed. Also my half stock rifle. Also my buffalo robe. Also the little white faced cow. Also my bay mare. Also my saddle.
Item 5 I give and bequeath unto my fifth son Willis Wilcox the following lands the south east quarter of the south west quarter of section twenty (20) township eighteen north of range six west of the third principal meridian. Also the sum of eight hundred dollars. Also my four horse wagon and two yoke of oxen. Also the old bald horse. Also my grey colt. Also all my hogs large and small. Also eight sheep. Also one bed. Also my bureau. Also my table. Also all my farming utensils and one half of the goose feathers - also two cows not herein disposed of.
Item 6 I give and bequeath to my sixth son Andrew Wilcox three hundred dollars.
Item 7 I give and bequeath unto my oldest daughter Eliza McNabb three hundred and fifty dollars.
Item 8 I give and bequeath to my second daughter Melinda McCarty fifty dollars.
Item 9 I give and bequeath to my youngest daughter Sally Propst three hundred and seventy dollars.
Item 10 I give and bequeath unto my niece Polly Wilcox two hundred and twenty five dollars. Also the roan cow and calf. Also all my geese and half of the feathers already picked.
Item 11 All of the rest and residue of my property including my real estate and money at interest and accounts and notes due to me I give and bequeath unto my sons William Wilcox, Samuel Wilcox, James Wilcox, and Willis Wilcox. Share and share alike.
And I do hereby constitute and appoint my sons William Wilcox and Samuel Wilcox my Executors of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I Ephraim Wilcox the testator have to this my will set my hand and seal this tenth day of September A. D. 1858.
