Mercer County, IL Marriage Notices

Black, Geo. W., of Eliza post office, and John Kinnerman are notified by the Rock Island County Board of supervisors to remove Mrs. Lydia Kinnerman and Jos. Kinnerman - their relatives - from the county of Rock Island and to provide for their wants (RE Weekly Union, Wednesday, 19 December 1866)

Castor, Lewis, and Sampson Castor of Perryton, Mercer Co., along with Philip Scneder, John Scneder, Frank Bethurem, E. Burrows, John McLaughlin and the Rev. J.P. Young of Edgington, Rock Island Co., have gone to Kansas with the intention of purchasing homes there. (RI Evening Argus, Friday, 28 August 1868)
Heflin, Mrs., of Preemption, gave birth 7 September to six children, three boys and three girls all living. (RI & Moline Daily Union, Monday, Thursday, 9 September 1869)

Heverling, F.H., of Richland Grove, Mercer Co., has a legal announcement in this issue that his wife Julian Heverling has left his bed and board. (RI Evening Argus, Thursday, 12 January 1865)

McMevins, Michael, was injured in a fight at Aledo on 31 July 1865 and is not expected to live. (RI Weekly Union, Wednesday, 9 August 1865)

Ritchey, R.W. and wife vs. Agnes Moir (Rock Island Circuit Court case, change of venue from Mercer County), concerning property in Biggsville, including a steam mill. Mrs. Ritchey was originally married to a man named Phelps who died leaving her property. She then became the wife of Mr. Moir who died without issue, but left a will naming his wife, mother (Mrs. Agnes Moir) and sister. Four brothers of the deceased along with their mother and sister are resisting the claim. Since the beginning of the suit more than nine years ago, three of the Moir brothers have died, each leaving numerous heirs. (RI Daily Union, Saturday, 11 June 1870)

Welch, William, a boy who was bound to Daniel Twelftree of Hamlet, Mercer Co., has left for parts unknown. He was aged ca. 10y and his mother consented to his apprenticeship (RI Evening Argus, Tuesday, 25 August 1868)
