Kay L. Garleb, nee Gerber, 52, of Waterloo, Ill., born June 20, 1942, in Maeystown, Ill., died Sunday, March 19, 1995, at Deaconess medical Center, St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Garleb was a custodian for St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Ill; and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter (Pete) Garleb. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Holly and Gene Voelker of Waterloo, Ill., and Julie and Doug Rabbermann of Waterloo, Ill.; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jim Seboldt of Fults, Ill.; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Ray and Kathy Garleb of Carson City, Nev.; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Heather, Allison, Tara, Seth and Jennifer; her parents, Earl and Edlin, nee Bange, Gerber of Waterloo, Ill; aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will he held at 11 a.m. Wednesdday, March 22, 1995, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Ill., with Pastor F. Wehrenberg officiating. Burial will be in Kollmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo, Ill.

Friends may call from 2 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 21 at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, Ill., and from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral Wednesday, March 22 at the church.

Mabel June Newton, born June 23, 1925, Thebes, Illinois, died November 30, 1995, at Belleville, Illinois. Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Newton in 1988. Surviving are her daughter, Terry Ann ( Donald) Shockley and her son, Kevin Eugene Newton; two grandchildren, Donna Louise and Donald Shockley, Jr.; one great-granddaughter; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Servies 11 a.m. Monday, December 4, 1995 at Lawlor-Muelleer Chapel, Columbia, Ill. Interment at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.

Clyde R. Schaefer, 64, of Waterloo, Ill., born April 20, 1935, in Waterloo, Ill., died Oct. 8, 1999, at his home near Waterloo, Ill. Mr. Schaefer retired from Union Electric and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Ill.; and Masonic Lodge Af & AM 787, Waterloo, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil A. and Adelia, nee Anderson, Schaefer. Surviving are his wife, Gerry, nee Kossina, Schaefer; his daughter, Lorraine ( Mark) Beritschaft of Valmeyer, Ill.; a son, Charles ( Becky) Schaefer of Maeystown, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Ann (Vernon) Meister of Benton, Ill.; a brother, Harvey (Marilyn) Schaefer of Waterloo, Ill.; his father-in-law, William Kossina of Waterloo, Ill; aunts; nieces and nephews; and cousins.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Ill.,or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, Ill. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.Wednesday,, Oct. 13, 1999, at St.Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Ill.., with Pastor Jeff Groenne officiating.
