Jacksonville - Mr and Mrs. Veerin Daniels celebrated their golden wedding at Jacksonville. Mr. Daniels' father came to Jacksonville in 1826, when there were only 13 houses in the city. This picture is of Veerin Daniels and his wife Sarah Virginia English with their children.
The children from left to right are Joseph Huff (1869), Mary Ellen (Nellie) (1864), Elizabeth English (1876), Veerin Barton (1871), Jane (Jennie) McMillen (1887), George Warren (1866) and Martin Archibald (1880).
Veerin Daniels, son of Verin Daniels and Nancy Webster Barton was born Nov 25, 1838 in Jacksonville, Morgan, Illinois. He married on Dec 3, 1863 in Jacksonville, Sarah Virginia English, daughter of Joseph English and Mary Huff. Sarah was born Aug 17, 1841 in Newark, Licking, Ohio. The English family moved to Jacksonville in 1854. Mr. Daniels died Jan 18 1919 and his wife died Dec 4 1919. Both are buried in the old East Cemetery in Jacksonville, Illinois.
