Wednesday, April 15th at high noon, occurred the marriage of Miss Melia C. DAVIS of Woodbine, Ill., and
Mr. John D. Nelson (sic - should be WILSON) of Heron Lake, Minn.
Rev. Dr. McVety tied the knot at the home of the bride's brother, Dr. Chas. E. Davis, of 1830 N. Jefferson avenue,
Peoria, Ill. Only the near friends and relatives were present. The bride looked pretty and tasty in a pearl grey
gown and pink and white carnations. The groom looked smiling and happy in the regulation suit of black. He
is a pleasant gentleman, a substantial and valued citizen of Heron Lake, Minn., where he is a school teacher well
known there, as well as in Jo Davies county, where she has taught school for several years. Congratulations were
followed by a wedding lunch, and after a nice social time, carriages took the party out sight-seeing. Then came
supper at the Hotel Fey and then it was train time, when farewell was said and the newly married pair took the
evening train for Moline to visit relatives of the groom. They will then proceed home where they expect to be in
a few days. Mrs. Lucinda Wilson, an only sister of the bride, came from her home at Mt. Vernon, Ill. to attend
the wedding, when she then goes to Marshall Pass, Colo., to visit relatives.
