Harold Christner
   BARTONVILLE - Harold V. Christner, 78, formerly of Bartonville, died at 11:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 1992, at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy.
   Born Oct. 7, 1914, in Brown County to Frank and Margaret Ferguson Christner, he married Linnie Mae Shaver on Oct. 4, 1947, in Peoria.
She  died Sept. 15, 1992, in Peoria.
   Surviving are three brothers, Gerald of Mount Sterling, Charles of  DeKalb and Lozelle "Bud" of Carlock; five sisters, Ann Moklar and Mary
White, both of Mount Sterling, Dorothy Zander of Camp Point, Marjorie Bowman of Bartonville and Norma Rahn of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was a mechanic at Peoria Hydramatic Co. for more than 20 years before retiring.
   A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8662 and the Eagles Lodge, both in Peoria.
   Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the services. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
   Memorials may be made to any charity.

   PEORIA - Katherine Lucille ''Lucy'' Cox, 90, of Carthage, Mo., formerly of Peoria, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Mo.
   Born Oct. 24, 1910, in Littleton to Fred John and Eva Pearl Horney Scott, she married Cornelius M. Cox on Jan. 31, 1942, in Peoria. He died Dec. 23, 1997, in Peoria.
   She also was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.   Surviving are seven nieces, and two nephews.
   She was an accountant for Herschel Manufacturing Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1963.
   She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the church choir.
   Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at North Limestone Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Peoria County.
The Rev. Dr. John Stanley will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Wilton Mortuary.
   Memorials may be made to her church.

   PEKIN - Rose M. Crooks, 68, of 1001 Catherine, formerly of Peoria, died at 8:02 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
   Born Aug. 5, 1929, in Schuyler County to William and Annabelle Campbell Croxton, she married William Peacock.
She later married Fred Crooks on Sept. 23, 1967, in Peoria. He survives.
   Also surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Jones of Peoria and Bonnie Crooks of Pekin, with whom she made her home; seven sons, James of  Dunlap,
William "Lee" Peacock and Glen Peacock, both of Glasford, Rick Peacock of Bartonville, Troy Peacock of Newburg, Mo., Tom Peacock of
Mountain Home, Ark., and Dale Peacock of Moreno Valley, Calif.; 47 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta Marquis of
Rushville and Juanita Peacock of Creve Coeur; and one brother, James Croxton of Peoria. She was preceded in death by one son, Teal Sprinkle, and three great-grandchildren.
   She worked for Hav-A-Tampa in Fort Myers, Fla., for 15 years, retiring in 1988. Prior to that she worked as a nurse's aide at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rushville City Cemetery in Rushville. The Rev. John Salzman will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
   Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

   PEORIA - James H. "Jim" Croxton, age 72, of Peoria passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at 9:18 a.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
   Born Dec. 3, 1933, in Schuyler County, Ill., to William Cotton and Annabell (Campbell) Croxton, he married Janet Gossage on June 23, 1956, in Rushville. She survives.
   Also surviving are two daughters, Lori (and Mike) Carroll of Peoria and Kymm (and John) Carroll of Peoria; and two sons, Gregg (and Melody)
Croxton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christopher (and Lori) Croxton of Peoria. Also surviving are a sister, Roberta (and Robert) Marquis of Rushville, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Valerie Freeman; and two sisters.
   Jim worked as a machinist at Caterpillar Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1985. For the next 10 years, he worked at Catholic Social Services.
   He was a well-known country musician in the Peoria area since 1966. He was also an avid bowler and golfer.
   Services will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at 12 noon at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Rev. Bill Williams will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
   Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

   PEORIA - Nola C. Cadwalader, 94, of 2203 N. Linn St. died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 1994, at Galena Park Home in Peoria Heights.
   Born March 18, 1900, in McDonough County to James and Effie Toland Connor, she married Garrett Cadwalader on March 18, 1922. He died Dec.
8, 1969, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one son and three  brothers.
   Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
   She worked in the laundry at the Pere Marquette Hotel, retiring in 1965. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Swan Lake Memory
Gardens in Peoria. The Rev. Dave Hamilton will officiate. There will be no visitation. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

PEORIA- Shirley Ann CALHOUN, 58, died at Lindenwood Healthcare Center, where she was a resident. Born April 23, 1940, in Pontic to Benjamin and Florence BELL LANGDOC, she married Marvian CALHOUN in 1957 in Peoria. Two infant sons and one brother preceeded her in death.
She was a life member of the Salvation Army, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the League of Mercy Group and the Home League.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army Citadel, where visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Capt. Larry Manzella will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Cumerford- Endsley- Diggle Fuernal Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Earl W. Callahan, life-long resident of Peoria died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Irene BAKER of Cloverdale at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at the age of 62. Son of Thomas and Hortense SCHNEBLIN CALLAHAN, he was born in Peoria, Sept. 11, 1881. He had been a bartender at Miles tavern for the last five years, but had not had worked since ladt November. For the last three months he lived at Cloverdale, Peoria, Route 5.He leaves two sister, Mrs. Mary HOFFMASTER of Loami; Mrs. Irene BAKER of Cloverdale and a brother Raymonf of Washington State.Funeral services will be held at the Wilton Mortuary Chapel.

Peoria Heights- Ruth Catherine CARR, 85, of Rose garden Care Center in Peoria Heights, formerly of E. Lake St., died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at Proctor Hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1918 in Marion, Ind., the daughter of Earl and Anna WAGGONER CARR.
One brother, Louis Carr, of Peoria, survivices. She was employed as a secretary by the Peoria County Board until she retired in 1986.
Cremation was accorded. There were no services or visitation. Burial of ashes will be in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion, Ind., at a later date.

PEORIA- Ruth E. CAULKINS, 91, formerly of Peoria, Prescott, Ariz., and Chetek, Wis., died Tuesday July 28, 1998, at Capri Nursing Home in Phoenix, where she was a resident.

Born Nov. 17, 1906, in Peoria to John W. and Sarah H. DAVISON REYNOLDS, she married the Rev. William F.CAULKINS. He preceded her in death, as did one son, L. Thad, in 1984.
Surviving are two daughters, on of Prescott and one of Lake Clark, Alaska; 12 grandchildren; and several great- grandchildren. She worked with her husband in his ministry in Methodist faith.
She also taught piano and organ lessons.
Graveside services were Friday at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott. Arizon-Ruffer - Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott was in charge of Arrangements.

Clifford H. CLEVELAND, 66, a painter formerly of Peoria died this morning at St. Luke's Hospital, Chicago, following an attack of blood poison.
He is survived by his wife widow and two children and two sisters, Rina Cleveland and Mrs. Clara Sutherland, of Frye Avenue.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon and burial will be at the Derman Cemetery near Groveland.

Born May 5, 1908, in Peoria to Frank H. and Laura Ingersoll Cramer, she married Walter Eli Conn Sr. on Sept. 6, 1930, in Peoria. He died Feb. 24, 1988, in Peoria. One brother also preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Ann Conn and Mrs. Robert (Mary Beth) Wageman, both of Hanna City; one son, Walter Jr. of Toulon; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. A graduate of the Peoria-Normal School of Teaching, she taught kindergarten and elementary school before her marriage. She was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Church in Peoria, where she taught Sunday school and worked in the church nursery. She was a former member of Peoria County Home Extension. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home in Peoria. The Rev. Ray Harrison will officiate. Also surviving are one son, Stephen L. of San Angelo, Texas; and several cousins. One son, Wayne, and one infant sister preceded him in death. He was an Army Air Corps veteran. He studied music and voice at Bradley U. and later attended Missouri Business College, where he became active with Midwest Broadcast Systems in Chillicothe, Mo. He worked at WBLN in Bloomington and was general manager of WINI in Murphysboro and KCFI in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was news director at WICS in Springfield. In 1972, he began working in real estate in Springfield. For the past 10 years, he was a distributor for Watkins Products in Springfield. He was a member of American Legion Post 32 in Springfield. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield. Services will be at noon Monday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary in Peoria. The Rev. Harry A. Pierjok will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before services at the mortuary. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Kickapoo. Memorials may be made to Memorial Medical Center Foundation for Cancer Research. he was a son of James T. and Eliza E. Miller Coxon. He married Argy Newell in Peoria on 16 July 1923 she died here 11 July 1974.
Mr. Coxon was a member of the first graduating class at Manual High School, Peoria.
Surviving are two brother, Glen and Raymond, and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Bornholdt, all of Peoria.

   Peoria - Roger Curless Sr., 66, of Springfield, formerly of Peoria, died at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Sangamon Care Center in Springfield.
   Born May 3, 1937, in Peoria to Dewey and Josephine Schafer Curless, he married Phyllis Schwinn Rose. She died March 28, 2003.
   He also was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
   Surviving are one son, Roger Jr. (and Christine) of Springfield; two stepsons, Robert Rose and Gary (and Rhonda) Rose, both of Peoria; one
daughter, Cynthia (and Ken) Hiles of Peoria; two sisters, Dorothy Clanin of Peoria and Charlotte Burke of Plano, Texas;
one brother, Charles of Glen Mills, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
   He had been a truck driver for the Journal Star.

Paul M. Callaway of Peoria died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.

Mr. Callaway was born in Christian County, the son of James Clarence and Mary Ellen McWard Callaway. He married Margaret Lindgren of Rhinelander, Wis., in 1932.He was preceded in death by a son, William L. Callaway.
He was a graduate of Taylorville High School and the University of Illinois, and he attended Harvard Law School.
Mr. Callaway owned and operated Callaway Business Machines in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; two sons, Dr. James P. Callaway of Peoria and Frederick A. Callaway of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, June E. Branson of Clearwater, Fla.;
one sister, June E. Callaway of Pawnee; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Salmon and Wright Funeral Home, Peoria, with the Rev. Kenneth Yocum officiating. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery at Peoria.

Surviving are one son, Kim of Kirksville, Mo.; one daughter, Christine Cramer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Mary Bond of Abingdon; and two grandchildren. A graduate of Western Illinois University Teachers College, she taught school in Abingdon for 32 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Berwick Baptist Church and Illinois Educators Association. She bowled in the Abbe-Ettes Monday Night League. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Larson Funeral Home in Abingdon. The Rev. George Terry will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Berwick Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Abingdon Ambulance Service or Abingdon Public Schools Foundation.

John I. "Jack" Cramer, 79, of 124 Homewood was pronounced dead at 6:13 a.m. Sunday, April 5, 1992, in the emergency room at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born Nov. 22, 1912, in rural Greenview to Emil Franz and Bertha Sofia Diers Cramer. He is survived by two brothers, Frank J. of Peoria and Emil F. of Lacon; one sister, Mrs. Lee (Clara Margaret) Biggs of Greenview; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother. He worked for 35 years at Caterpillar Inc. of East Peoria, retiring as Building inspector in 1976. He was a member of UAW Local 974 and the Caterpillar Retirees Club. He attended the First Assembly of God Church, 4120 Brandywine Drive, Peoria. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church, 4120 Brandywine Drive, Peoria, the Rev. Steven Chitty officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview. Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, 4120 Brandywine Drive, Peoria.

John Edward Cramer, 79, of rural Greenview, the father of a Mapleton man, died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, at his home. Born July 27, 1918, in Greenview to John G. and Margaret Albrecht Cramer, he married Helen Behrens on June 27, 1943. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Gary of Mapleton; one daughter, Diane Cramer Vail of Gulfport, Fla.; one brother, Robert of Normal; one sister, Eileen Dodd of Marquette, Mich.; and five grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

PEKIN -- Margaret May Cramer, 91, of Pekin Manor, formerly of 1006 Cambridge, died at 2:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 1993, at Pekin Hospital. Born Jan. 14, 1901, in Vandalia to Frank and Elizabeth Burris Jones, she married Marion Randal Cramer on Sept. 6, 1922, in Rock Island. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Richard Wayne of Pekin; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Charlesa) Higgins of Decatur, Ala.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five half sisters, Mrs. Frank (Goldie) Janovetz of Peoria, Mrs. Al (Veda) Arnold of Aurora, Dorothy Forbes of Bradford, and Alva Livengood and Ruth Ann Helmig, both of Pekin; and one stepbrother, Jim Mills of Pana. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and several half brothers and half sisters. She and her husband owned and operated Cramer's Market in Pekin from 1938 to 1957. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. today at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. The Rev. Michael McLeod will officiate. There will be no visitation. Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to her church.
