Clara Nehrkorn, 70, Pinckneyville, to Be Buried Saturday [1969]

Clara Nehrkorn, 70, Rt. 2, Pinckneyville, died July 31 in
Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Born Feb. 16, 1899 in Perry County, she was the daughter of Ben and
Martha Jane (Logan) Gass. On Sept. 5, 1916, she was married to Chris
J. Nehrkorn, who survives. She was affiliated with the Concord
Baptist Church.

Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louie
(Clarabelle) Goldman, Mrs. Dale (Myrtle) McElroy and Mrs. Kenneth
(Wanda) Miller, all of Pinckneyville; four sons, Eugene and George
Nehrkorn, of Pinckneyville, Robert and Billy Nehrkorn of Tamaroa;
four sisters, Laura Tanner, Kate Williamson and Lillian Pyatt, all of
Pinckneyville, and Tillie Coates, Swanwick; two brothers, James Gass,
East St. Louis and Merwin Gass, Pinckneyville, 18 grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren. Her parents, two brothers, and a son, Paul,
preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from the
Concord Baptist Church in Rice, with burial in the church cemetery.
Rev. Harold Hagel will officiate.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, after 4 p.m. today.
