CHARLES HEISNER, SR.
, a farmer and resident of Pinckneyville community for 60 years, died at the home of his son, CHAS HEISNER JR., Wednesday, February 7, at 4:45PM. At the time he had reached 85 years, 8 months and 11 days.
 
He was the last surviving of four children. He was born in Floraville, Illinois, St Clair Co, May 26, 1854. When a young man he came to Jackson County, Ava, Illinois, and there he was united in marriage April 23, 1877 to MARY LEPERE. In August 1880 they moved to his present home. His wife preceded him in death 17 years ago.
 
Surviving are his three sons, ADAM, JOHN and CHARLES JR., all of Pinckneyville, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many relatives.
 
In the year 1867 he was confirmed into the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Floraville IL, and later had his membership transferred to Pinckneyville, where he was a faithful attendant. Mr. Heisner was a good neighbor and a kind friend. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances.
 
Funeral services were held at St Paul's Evangelical Church, conducted by REV. M. P. SCHROEDEL Friday afternoon February 9, 1940 at 2:00PM.
 
Internment at Galum cemetery.
