OBITUARY

Sarah Phoebe Miller
Sarah Phoebe Miller was born on September 29, 1864 and departed this life at her home north of Pinckneyville. January 30, 1941, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 1 day. Her entire life was spent in Perry county.

She was united in marriage September 9, 1888 to Townsend B. Miller. To this union eight children were born.

To mourn her going are two daughters, Mrs. Alta Medlin of Rector, Arkansas; Mrs Velma Hutchings, of Nashville, Illinois; four sons, Iva, Harry, Vallie and Gerald all of Pinckneyville; sixteen grand children; three great grand children, one brother, Don McClurken of Pinckneyville; and a host of other relatives and friends. Two sons, Guy and Jessie, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

In 1894 she gave her heart to the Lord and united with Oak Grove Baptist Church and was ever a faithful Christian. Always thinking of others. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and friend none can forget. Her sweet personality spread sunshine where ever she went.

Funeral services were conducted at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Saturday at 2:00 o'clock with Rev D.H. Smith and Rev Mal Keene officiating.

Interment was made in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
