Perry Pugh, 80,
Lifelong Resident of County, Dies at Pinckneyville

Perry Pugh, 80, lifelong resident of Perry County, died today at Pinckneyville Community Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

He was the father of Willard of Pinckneyville, Democratic candidate for sheriff in the November 4 elections.
Also surviving are one other son and two daughters, Mrs. Elmo Ahlers of DuQuoin, Mrs. Willis Dean Williams, Pekin, Friend Pugh of Lenzburg; a foster daughter, Mrs. Lavern Will of Murphysboro; and two sisters, Dollie Pugh of Cutler and Katherine Wiehn of Pinckneyville.

The deceased was a former coal miner and railroader. He was born in Perry County on January 21, 1878, a son of the late Dave and Christine Pugh. His wife, the former Lena Schimpf, preceded him in death.
Also deceased are two children who died in infancy; one son, Elmer Pugh of Oraville; and four brothers and one sister George of Ava, John of Cutler, Charlie of Pinckneyville, Mrs.Alice Schimpf of Murphysboro and Dave Pugh of Pinckneyville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Monday, October 6, from the Pinckneyville Presbyterian Church, of which the deceased was a member.

Burial will be in Creekpaum Cemetery, between Vergennes and Ava.
Friends may call at Doerr Chapel in Pinckneyville after noon Sunday.
