BASTIAN SCHIMPF,
FATHER OF DU QUOIN MAN,
PASSES AWAY

Funeral services were held today for Bastian Schimpf, who died Sunday (September 4, 1955) at the Lynwood Nursing Home, Benton. Schimpf, 69, lived south of Pinckneyville near Vergennes.

He was a retired coal miner. He is survived by two children, Virgil Schimpf of DuQuoin and Mrs. Charles Smith, Pinckneyville.
Services were held today at the United Brethren Church at Vergennes with burial to be in the Creekpaum Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Doer's Chapel in Pinckneyville.
