Maude Idris Appuhn, 81, of 202 E. Perry St., DuQuoin, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 1979, at the Herrin Hospital, after a long illness.

      Mrs. Appuhn was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in DuQuoin.

      Mrs. Appuhn was born May 24, 1898, in Perry County to Mr. and Mrs. Grubb.

      She married May 21, 1919, in DuQuoin, to Albert "Swattie" Appuhn, who preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1957.

      Survivors include one daughter, Bernalla Stocks of DuQuoin; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

      One daughter, one son and several sisters and brothers preceded her in death.

      Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Old DuQuoin Cmetery.
