TAMAROA - Vera M. Bell, 70, died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1989, in St. Louis University Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to any hospital for crippled children. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker. She was a member of the Tamaroa Christian Church and the Du Quoin Veterans of foreign Wars Auxiliary, and was a former chairwoman of the Perry County American Cancer Society Drive. She was born April 6, 1918, in Scheller to Charlie and hattie (Barnett) Laur. She married Russell Bell, Jr. in 1940. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Charles Bell of Tamoroa; one daughter, Doris Klamm of Tamaroa; four brothers, Lester Laur of Scheller, Thomas Laur of Mount Vernon, Donald Laur of Christopher; two sisters, Velma Kiselewski of Sesser and Millie Kiselewski of Waltonville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Oner brother preceded her in death.
