Violet Benedict, 89, of Pinckneyville, died November 26, 1991 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

      She was born in Bone Gap, Illinois July 7, 1902 to Morel and Mary Sloan McKibben.

      She married Alva Benedict December 10, 1925 in East St Louis. He preceded her in death July 31, 1974.

      She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George.

      She is survived by several nieces and nephews; one step-granddaughter, Malinda Jones and one sister-in-law, Florence Luthy.
