DU QUOIN - Kenneth Brewer, 68, of 529 Washington St. died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 1987, in Marshall Browning Hospital.

      Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Old Du Quoin Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

      Mr. Brewer was a retired coal miner.

      He was a member of the American legion in Stone fort, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Marion, Masonic Lodge Blazing Star 498 AF & AM, United Mine Workers and the Christian Church. he was a veteran of World War II.

      He was born July 23, 1919, in Medora, Ind., to Walter and Zelphia Brewer.

      he married Jean Swango in 1940. She survives.

      Other survivors include two daughters, Judith Dorris of Bethany and Lysbeth Heaton of Sparta; one brother, Lee Brewer of Bedford, Ind.; one siter, Beatrice Wible of Pinckneyville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

      One brother preceded hom in death.
