Funeral services for Marion Burks, 48, Carbondale, formerly of Du Quoin, will be held Friday, at 10:30 a.m., at Searby Funeral Home, Du Quoin, with Reverend Claude Hampleman officiating. Interment will be in Old Du Quoin Cmetery. mr. burks died Tuesday, February 23, 1988, at 3:58 a.m., in Memorial Hospital, Carbondale.

      Visitation is at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday.

      Born May 12, 1939, in du Quoin, he was the son of the late Stanley E. and Lillian I. (Lively) Burks. Of the Baptist faith, he was a lab technician for the state of Illinois Hospital in Chicago.

      Surviving are two sisters, Alice Wilmoth of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Imogene Martin of Zeigler; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
