DU QUOIN - Stanley E. Burks, 76, died 2:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 1988, in Fair Acres Nursing Home.

      Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with burial in Old Du Quoin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. sunday at the funeral home.

      Mr. Burks was a retired maintenance employee for the Chicago State Hospital.

      He was a Baptist, and an Army veteran.

      He was born June 23, 1911, in Du Quoin.

      He married Lillian Lively in 1934. She died in 1985.

      Survivors include one son, Marion Burks of Du Quoin; two daughters, Alice Wilmoth of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Imogene Martin of Zeigler; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
