Mrs. Rose M. Burris, of Rt. 1, Swanwick, passed away Monday February 16, 1987, at the Sparta Community Hospital at the age of 59 years.

      Mrs. Burris was born February 10, 1928, at Winkle, the daughter of Fred and Sarah Maude Stephenson Fisher. She married William J. "Billie" Burris February 18, 1945, at Fullerton, KY, and he died September 4, 1972.

      Mrs. Burris was a member of the Winkle Baptist Church, the Swanwick Pinochle Club and was employed in the dietary unit at the Sparta Community Hospital.

      Mrs. Burris is survived by eight sons, Terry and Eddie of Swanwick, Joe, Kenneth and Mickey of California, Roger of South Carolina, Bobby of Michigan and Donald of Oklahoma; two daughters, Judy Rainey of Coulterville and Sally Rodely of Swanwick; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

      Mrs. Burris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.

      Funeral services were held Thursday, February 19, at the Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, with Rev. Thomas Waldecker, officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick.
