Charles Fred Jr., 70, of Bourbonnais, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 1984, in Riverside Hospital in Kankakee.

      Mr. Fred lived in Bourbonnais for 29 years and was employed by Fisher Body in Willow Springs. He was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge of Bradley.

      He was born Dec. 29, 1913, in Old Du Quoin, to Charles and Lillie Mae Webster Fred Sr.

      He married Virginia Mannion Nov. 24, 1934, in Pinckneyville.

      Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles E. of Salem, and Jerry R. and Donald D. of Bourbonnais; one sister, Ethel Howerton of St. Johns; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one daughter.

      Funeral services will be be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Maxton Funeral Chapel in Du Quoin. Burial will be in Old Du Quoin Cemetery.
