Funeral services for Clara Gaerig, 83, of 315 N. Line st., Du Quoin, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Presbyterian Church in Du Quoin. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Neal Funeral home in du Quoin. Mrs. Gaerig died at 7:05 a.m. Monday, March 15, 1982, in Marshall Browning Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was a lifetime resident of the Du Quoin area, a housewife, a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Du Quoin Gold Plate. She was born Dec. 8, 1898 in Old Du Quoin, to Henry and Annie Williams Mann. She married Charles Gaerig, who died in December 1932. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Huff of Du Quoin and Mary Stanhouse of Livonia, Mich.; three sons, Charles H. Siefert of Las Vegas, Nev., Carl D. Gaerig of Dearborn, Mich., and John W. Gaerig of Red Bud; two sisters, Lillian Fred of Old Du Quoin and Minnie Carney of Mulkeytown; one brother Johnny Mann of Mulkeytown; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
