For Maude E. Haines Funeral services for Maude E. Haines, 83, of Rt. 3, Du Quoin, will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from Neal Memorial Chapel with Rev. Fred E. Fieker officiating. Interment will be in the old Du Quoin Cemetery. Mrs. Haines died Tuesday, Sept. 13, at her home. She had been in failing health several years. Visitation is at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m., today and on Thursday until time of service. Born July 27, 1900 in New Burnside, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Elizabeth (Wiggs) Cook. On Nov. 25, 1915 in Benton, she married Fred Ace Haines who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1970. A lifetime resident of the community, she was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Betty Haines of Du Quoin; one son, Robert Haines of Joliet; and three grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, one daughter, on son, three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
