Former Resident, Dies In Murphysboro Rudolph Hoffman, 77, former Du Quoin resident, died Wednesday at his home, Country Village Trailer Park, Murphysboro. Born in Ohio Aug. 9, 1903, he was the son of the late Daniel and Rosa (Roach) Hoffman. In 1928 he married Grace Ellen Mifflin who preceded him in death. A retired coal miner, he was a member of UMWA, Murphysboro Senior Citizens, Moose Lodge and a member of the Nazerene Church in Murphysboro. Surviving are a son, Charles Daniel Hoffman of St. Louis; a daughter, Doris June Vickers of Carbondale; a brother, William Hoffman of California; two sisters, Frances O'Keefe and Elsie Hoffman of California; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. from Cranshaw Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Marion Halloway officiating. Interment will be in Old Du Quoin Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home today after 5 p.m. today.
