Of Gunshot Wound, Funeral Held Friday Funeral services for Alma Lance, 44, Du Quoin, step-mother of Roy and Arthur Lance and sister of Lee A. Johnson, all of Sesser, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Keeling Funeral Home, Du Quoin. The Rev. Bob Barger, pastor of the Sesser Church of God. officiated and burial was in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery. Mrs. Lance was reported to have died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday. Family members reported she had been despondent lately. An inquest is pending. Mrs. Lance was born April 11, 1921 in Perry County, a daughhterof Charles and illegible (_ _bon) Johnson. she was a cook in a Du Quoin restaurant.
Besides her two step-sons and brother, she is also survived by her husband, James Lance; two sons, Charles Lemmons,
Clarkton, Wash. and Samuel Lemmons Jr., serving with the Navy; another step-son, Billy F. Lance, Chicago Heights;
three other brothers Ernest, cornelius, and Charles Johnson, all of Du Quoin; two
