Clara B. Svanda, 80, died on Friday, January 17, 1992, in Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.

      Mrs. Svanda was born January 24, 1911, in the Denmark area of Perry County to William George and Emma Jane (Gladson) Lindner. She married Anton Svanda on April 3, 1933 in Pinckneyville. He died on July 19, 1986.

      She was a member of the Denmark Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of the area.

      Survivors include one son, Gary Svanda and his wife, Theresa of Medera, Calif.; one daughter, Yvonne Lou Kennedy and her husband, Robert, of Wayne City; four grandchildren, Roberta Gordon, Gene Lunnemann, Kerri Svanda and Travis Svanda; and three great grandchildren, Noah, Lily and Eva.

      She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, Charles, Kenneth, Frank and William Lindner.

      Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pyatt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Cottom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
