Oscar V. Uhles, 82, Chester, formerly of DuQuoin, died Saturday, February 20, at Padgett Nursing Home in Chester.

      He was born at Denmark, Ill, in 1888. His parents were William H. and Lydia (Rees) Uhles.

      In 1908 he married Bertha Misker in Murphysboro.

      He is survived by a son, Leland, Roxanna, IL; two daughters, Mrs. Warren McCarton, Roberts, IL, Mrs. Charles Kile, Salem, IL; a brother, Ehnis Uhles, Belleville, two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Padgett, Chester, Mrs. Carter Armstrong, East St Louis; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Monday, February 22, at the First Baptist Church in DuQuoin.
