Walter Renzo (Scotty) Wheeles, 70, died April 16, 1984 in Pinckneyville Community Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Wheeles was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Works, No. 663 of St Louis and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Railroad Workers and the Railway Maintenance Workers, and was a retired worker of Missouri-Pacific Railroad. He was born February 14, 1914 in Perry County to Reuben and Mary Keller Wheeles. He married Maria Eichholz October 21, 1939 in St Louis. Survivors include his wife and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Chappell, of Swanwick, and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben (a Marine), Louis and Minor. Funeral services were Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, with burial in Bethel Cemetery at Swanwick.
