David D. Hull, jr., merchant, is a native of this county, born in Barry tp. Sept. 25, 1844, a son of Tate Hull. In his 18th year he shouldered a gun and fought for Uncle Sam in the late war, in Co. H, 99th Reg. I. V. I., for about two years, when his company was consolidated with Co. C. He was in the Vicksburg campaign, the battles of Champion Hills, Raymond, Fort Blakoloy, Fort Spanish, Mobile and others. His two brothers, Thomas and Albert, also served in the war. In 1865 Mr. Hull married Sarah A., daughter of Granville Scott, deceased; and they have had 6 children, of whom 5 are living: Minnie A., Norton C, Everett, Wily and Hubert. As a merchant Mr. Hull carries a general line of goods.
