Tom Fox stopped in Barry and asked an older cousin that had grown up south of new Canton, up Brewster Hollow.
She is 88 and remembered Gilbert Drug Store - However, she wasn't sure of the location- she thought it was on a corner-
If that is correct, it had to be Goodies corner or the old Massey Bldg diagonally across the street.
The photo shows it on a corner.

The citizens of New Canton were aroused from their beds early Friday by shouts of fire, which were discovered was fast consuming Gilbert's drug store. Nothing could be done as the fire had gained such headway and with the exception of a dwelling house and a blacksmith shop, the whole block was destroyed. The fire is estimated at $30,000 with little or no insurance.
