Mrs. Fannie Hall was a Christmas guest at a turkey dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Burke. Mr. and Mrs. Burke also entertained their son Gerald and family, and their daughter Mrs. Eileen Aiken and her family.
Miss Frances Grammer of Quincy was a weekend guest of her mother MRs. Harve Witham
Mrs. Mary Stauffer was a Christmas Day guest ofher brother, James Wells and wife and their daughter Mrs. Rena Geisel in Barry.
Mrs. Mayme Boyd and daughter of Bement IL are spending the holidays at their home in Baylis and with relatives at Roanoke Indiana.
Ashael Jeffers who is with the Navy and has been stationed at Guam, is spending a 30 day furlough with his parents, Mr.a nd Mrs. Leslie Jeffers.
Rev. and Mrs. J.M. Judy, Mrs. Maud Kaylor and Lena June were guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Tedrow in New Salem Christmas Day.
Reb. and Mrs. A.I. Cain were weekend guests of relatives in Canton IL. Rev. cain was called there to officiate at a funeral.
George an dEarl Moore, Gilbert, Billing and Corrine of Gilson IL spent Christmas and the weekend with his parents Mr.a nd Mrs. George Moore.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Jeffers and son Ashael were SPringfield visitors Saturday and visited Mrs. Jeffer's sister, Mrs. Pearl Wilkins, who is a patient at St. John's Hospital.
The Baylis Boy scouts and their scoutmaster, Clyde Fitzpatrick, had a scrap iron drive December 29. Receipts from the sale go into the scout fund.

Howard Harshman has returned from a visit with his son, Glenn at Peoria.
Mrs.Lindy class of the United Bretheran Church will serve ice cream Thursday night July 6.
Eloise Gates is attending business college in St.Louis.
Lena June Kaylor spent Monday night and Tuesday in the Dr. T.D. and M.b. Kaylor home in Barry.
Charles Dale of Illoipolis is relieving Glenn Williams, Wabash operator, whose mother is ill.
Mrs. Maud Kaylor was entertained at an ice cream supper by Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Dunston Monday night.
Lois Jean Holmes has returned from a visit with her aunt Mrs. Walter Cammire in Illiopolis.
Mrs. Mae Evans of Nebraska is visiting Mrs. Susan Slade.
Mr. and Mrs. Estil Chappel, Mrs. Neal Chappel, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Albers of St. Louis, were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vannatta.
Mrs. M.W. Tedrow visited MRs. Maud Kaylor Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Dunston and son, Russell, spent Sunday with her brother, Byron Shaw, and nephew Ray Lovitt of Summer Hill.
The Baylis elevator is receiving a new coat of paint.
Kate Peacock, Mrs. Anna M. Burch and Mrs. Winnie Vannata were Pittsfield visitors Tuesday. They were accompanied home by Donna Musgrave, who is visiting her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vannatta.

Mrs. Eva COrey of Quincy was a Sunday guest in the A. Henthorne hoe. She went to Griggsville to remain over the Fourth with MRs. Helen Corey.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Powell of Detroit, Mich., are guests of Mr. Powells mother, Nettie Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Powell were Sunday guests there.

J.M. Witham submitted to surgery in Blessing Hospital last week. He is still a patient but is recovering nicely.
Mrs. C.A. White was hostess to the members of the Mary Martha Class at her home Tuesday evening November 18.
Mr. A. L. Pine, Mrs. Maud Kaylor and Lena June were Quincy visitors Saturday.
Mrs. George Hill is a patient in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.
Kenneth Potter will sell his farm machinery, live stock, household furniture and farm at his home southeast of Baylis at public auction.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ramsey and daughter of Quincy were weekend guests of Mrs. Ramsey's parents Mr. and Mrs. WIlliam Waters.
Mr. and Mrs. Alexander of CA are visiting relatives and friends here. Mrs. Alexander is the former Bertha Ellen Engleman and previous to her going to CA resided ain the Baylis Community.
